It was a peaceful way to travel, and I loved waking up to the sunrise as we pulled into Chiang Mai. Plus, it’s a great way to save on accommodation and travel at the same time!
In smaller cities like Chiang Mai, I tried the songthaew—an open-air truck with benches in the back. It’s a local transport option that’s perfect for short trips around town. I loved it because it felt like I was truly experiencing the local way of life. And the best part? You can just hop on, hop off, and pay a small fee at the end of your ride.
